But I am going, I made a commitment, in the first 100 days, I will send an immigration bill to the United States Senate with a pathway to citizenship for over 11 million undocumented people in America. Usually, extreme actions aren't always the best idea. Immigration should be reserved for those with the highest IQ and accomplishments. America doesn't need low skill, low IQ immigrants.

BigPeePee Why don't we just open the borders up? Capitalism provides the ultimate meritocracy. If you work harder than other people, you'll be rewarded by capitalism, right? Why does it matter then, what the IQ of an immigrant is?

I also don't get why people think they have more of a right to live here and participate in society than someone born in another country. Who cares where you were born. It's just random, why should that impact who we allow into the country?

CalebWetherell Heh, I used to think like you back during my Liberatarian phase. The reality is that most people are racists and view the world through a racial lense. Under a complete meritocracy, the people at the top would be disproportionately of certain racial bankgrounds, and that inevitably conjures up envy. Look at the way blacks and Hispanics are attacking Asians for taking up most of the slots in top high schools. The people at the bottom will vote to strip the wealth of the successful. Ultimately, open borders lead to Communism. Picking only intelligent immigrants solves this issue, as they will already be in the upper income brackets and will vote for more financial freedom.

CalebWetherell I think you're going through a Libertarian phase. It'll take time, but you'll eventually grow to resent immigration, especially when they start threatening your livelihood and safety. The flow goes like this: Liberal --> Libertarian --> Conservative --> Nationalist --> Race Realist Not everyone makes it to race realism, as that's too edgy for most people. Donald Trump, for example, is at the Nationalist phase. For you to move further right in the flow chart, you have to realize that not all nations have the same average IQ and that nothing can help them. Only when you accept this truth will you realize why open borders doesn't work.

A 12 year "phase" since I've been interested in politics and been through various stages of debt to living quite comfortably. I wouldn't describe myself as libertarian, but I like some of the concepts.

CalebWetherell Hmm, maybe it's because you live in an all-white neighborhood. It's always the white people who never had extensive experience with non-whites that believe in equality and open borders. If you lived in the south side of Compton or in Jackson Heights, where you witness 2 stabbings every week, you might have a different opinion. For now, it's easy for you to sit comfy in your all-white neighborhood while condemning whites who actually have to put up with non-whites.

No, because many of these intelligent people wouldn't have the resources to succeed in any other country. Elon Musk would've never succeeded with Tesla or Space X anywhere else, because the US has the smartest people from all over the world.
Their accomplishments in the US benefit the entire world. The internet, for example, was invented in America, but almost the entire world now has internet.
